* BUILDING PERMITS *

For our clients, we will take care of obtaining the necessary permits. However, if you wish to obtain additional detailed information about the specific requirements and ordinances of each city, or check on the status of the permit application for your project, see below. According to the Florida Building Code a permit is required to "construct, enlarge, alter, repair, move, remove or demolish any building, structure or part thereof." The need and type(s) of permit(s) required is based on the scope of work planned to be performed. You may also need some type of approval from your condominium or homeowners association. If contract amount exceeds $2,500 a Notice of Commencement must be filed with the Clerk of the Circuit by the owner or contractor prior to commencement of construction. A recorded and certified copy of the Notice of Commencement must be posted at the job site. Details of the procedures and requirements vary by city and are governed by its municipal code.
